Doug
began his career in private practice with H.R. Heasman,
quantity surveyors, where he worked on a number of major
town centre redevelopment projects before joining a multi-disciplinary
public sector team during which time he qualified as a
Chartered Surveyor. In 1975 he moved to London and Manchester
Assurance where he assumed responsibility for the design
and construction of their award winning headquarters at
Winslade Park, Exeter, and in 1979 he moved on to 3i plc,
where he was responsible for the development of a wide
range of industrial and commercial buildings.
In 1987 he became a director of SGS
and has since then been responsible both for their in-house
commercial property development programme and for their
project management practice.
